Eligibility Criteria:
M.Tech./ M. E./ M. Arch/ M. Planning/M. Design or equivalent degree with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized technical institute or university.

B.Tech/BE/ B.Arch/MCA*/ M. Sc./ M. Com./ MBA/MA or equivalent degree with First class.

All Candidates are required to produce a proof of having qualified GATE/UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET score card.

application alongwith the payment of online application fees is
20th July 2026 (upto 5:00 PM). Application fees need to be paid online
through Institute website only. Please note that Application form
without payment of applicable fee will not be considered.

Application Fee:
  • For General/OBC/EWS/Sponsored category: Rs.1500/-
  • For SC/ ST/ PwD category: Rs.750/-
  • Applicants from SC/ ST/ PwD category must enclose Certificate issued by Competent Authority to claim relaxation in application Fee.
Educational Qualification:
Master’s Degree.

National Institute of Technology Patna is the 18th National Institute of Technology created by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, after rechristening the erstwhile Bihar College of Engineering, Patna, on 28.01.2004. NIT Patna traces its humble beginnings back to 1886 with the establishment of the Pleaders’ Survey Training School, which was subsequently upgraded to the Bihar College of Engineering, Patna, in 1924. This made the institute the sixth oldest engineering institute in India. The graduate-level curriculum was later elevated to the postgraduate level in 1978.
